About Me
👋🏼 Hi! I’m Brenden, but my friends and family call me “Bo.” Why? Good question. If you figure it out, let me know.
First things first—let’s get the fine print out of the way: everything I say here (opinions, commentary, links, and maybe a dad joke or two) is 100% mine. My views and this site’s content don’t represent my employer, any organization I associate with, my former youth soccer team, or my dogs—although I like to think they’d agree with most of it.
Now that we’ve cleared that up…
Welcome to a small but entertaining corner of my brain. It’s like a garage workshop for ideas—sometimes messy, always honest, and occasionally brilliant (or at least I hope so). I write about leadership, strategy, executive search, and talent management—topics I’m obsessed with. I try to keep things fun, informative, and actionable, maybe a little sarcastic at times, but entertaining enough to make you stay for a second cup of coffee. ☕
Here’s the Deal
All great business outcomes start with Great People Decisions. You can have the flashiest strategy documents, the slickest mission statements, and a lobby full of buzzwords on the walls—but none of that matters if you don’t have the right people to make it happen.
Exceptional people—the ones I call Top 5% Talent—are the real needle-movers. They’re not just 10% better than average; they’re 10x better.
That’s why I live and breathe this stuff. I’m obsessed with understanding what makes great leaders tick, how to find and attract Top 5% talent, and why so many companies are bad at it. (Spoiler: most leaders think they’re good at interviewing. They’re not. 🫤)
Why I’m Here
This newsletter is my way of sharing what I’ve learned and inviting you to join the conversation. I hope you’ll pull up a stool, grab your favorite drink, and stick around. Got thoughts? Ideas? Counterpoints? Lay ’em on me.
Because in the end, the best team wins. 🏆
